Add Diet Improvements to Your Fitness Plan

If the question is whether working out can help you shed pounds, the answer is emphatically “yes!”

If the question is whether you can do it without managing your diet, the answer is – probably not!

There’s a reason that the best fitness programs and classes include a lot of focus on diet and nutrition. The fact that some don’t is unfortunate.

Here’s the thing about creating a caloric deficit. You can work out all day, but if you’re still eating more calories than you’re burning, you’re not going to lose weight. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to health and your diet. People make the mistake of thinking that the only major health impact of poor diet is a tendency toward obesity. That’s not really true at all. There’s more to it.

Diet and Health Risks

As more of us consume more processed foods, we get much higher levels of sodium and fat. That can take away from the positive impact of our fitness plans, but it can also create negative cellular changes and other problems. It’s hard to remember this when you’re shopping for food or trying to get your three square meals a day.

The positive side of this is that changing your nutrition can make you feel better and lose weight at the same time. If you’re like many of us, you may even have some food sensitivities that make your quality of life better when you do some research into your diet and make positive changes.

When we do corporate wellness classes and individual counseling and more, we put specific emphasis on diet and nutrition. We know that all too often, people are struggling with weight gain and other issues at least partially because of what they eat, and they don’t have all of the detailed information to make the best decisions. Food companies aren’t going to tell you what their food does to you – that’s not their job, although it would be the kind thing to do!

Instead, when you get the best diet and fitness help from qualified trainers and consultants, you’re making an investment in your health that will pay off for years down the road – for the rest of your entire life.

Talk to us about how to manage your nutrition and your workout plan to get in shape and feel great. Let Michael, Carrie, Milly, and Anna work with you to develop a personal plan that will show you how great life can be with the right kinds of positive change!
